Landhaus

The great cheeses of Germany serve as creative inspiration for the Landhaus range of cheeses.

Butterkäse

This old-world favorite has a mild, approachable flavor and a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Excellent for snacking and cooking; complements a wide range of flavors.

Recipe Applications:

  • Pasta with cheese sauce
  • Broil atop vegetables
  • Grilled cheese sandwiches and quesadillas

Pair with:

  • Apples and grapes
  • Whole wheat crackers
  • Sparkling apple cider or Pilsner

BrauKäse

Our Cellar Masters gently wash the rind of BrauKäse with brewer's yeast to impart a subtle, earthy flavor; the creamy interior is perfectly balanced with the slightly assertive rind.

  • Grate into Gougères or mini puff pastries
  • Root vegetable gratins

Pair with:

  • Fresh vegetables and cured meats

Limburger

Notoriously aromatic as it ages, Limburger is relatively tame as a young cheese. Earthy and slightly tangy, our Wisconsin version bears most of its pungency in the rind. A must try for true cheese fans.

Recipe Applications:

  • Slice and serve with onions and hearty bread
  • Wrap with puff pastry dough and bake
  • Melt on pizza with sausage and roasted vegetable

Pair With:

  • Pickles and mustard
  • Cured meats
  • Dark beers or apple cider

St. Bernard's

Creamy, mild, and velvety, this naturally smoked cheese has a smooth and smoky flavor. The perfect addition to a charcuterie plate; excellent for slicing and melting.

Recipe Applications:

  • Melt on burgers or sandwiches
  • Broil atop cauliflower or broccoli
  • Stir into mashed potatoes

Pair with:

  • Crudité vegetables, cured meat, and olives
  • Spinach or peppery salad greens
  • Côtes du Rhône red wines
