Krönenost™ Fontina. . . the original
melting cheese
An ancient and highly regarded Italian cheese whose
name was derived from the Italian word “to melt”,
was first made popular in the United States by the Swedes.
Our cheesemakers have used imported cultures and traditional
manufacturing techniques to recreate this full-flavored
Scandinavian version. Krönenost™ Swedish Fontina is a somewhat tart, but very tasty cheese.
The body is ivory to yellowish and coated with a red
wax. It’s a full-bodied, irresistible cheese that’s
very close to the Swedish original.
Roth Käase also makes a traditional Swedish-style Farmers
Cheese that is naturally lower in fat than other comparable
cheeses. Like it’s cousin our Swedish Fontina,
it melts well and slices easily.
